Stages Power Meter Shimano Ultegra 6800 Crank
The Stages Power Meter Shimano Ultegra 6800 Crank is perfect for riders that want an integrated power measurement device for their Ultegra 6800 crank. This crank arm replaces your non-drive crank arm so you can measure your pedalling power. The Power meter fits both the compact and standard Ultegra crankset. The crank uses the new Bluetooth Smart protocol and ANT+ so you can update the firmware wirelessly. You can also upload data from your ride directly from your iPhone to your training regime almost instantly! This road crank arm uses the orientation of strain gages to filter any unwanted measurements of deflection. The left measurement also makes calibration easier as no compensation is required for torque differences. The use of accelerometer based cadence allows the Stages Power meter to know if you’re pedalling in less than a second. It also eliminates glued or zip-tied magnets, allowing our unit to be completely self-contained. The Stages Power Meter cranks have been designed to bring power-based training to all disciplines of performance cycling. It uses advanced technology in a simple, elegant design to measure the power you generate from pedalling. The Stages Power Meter is the lightest, smallest, most technologically advanced unit available today and it is available in a variety of models and lengths to suit your cranks to perfection. How does it work? The Stages Power Meter allows you to measure the power you input when you’re pedalling. The cranks have strain gages that measure force in kilograms and convert it to power via simple physics equations. The major difference between Stages Power and competitors, however, is that we’re measuring force on the left crank arm. However this assumes your left and right legs have an equal power output. After thousands of miles of testing, the power differential between the left and right leg has no significant influence on ride data and its value as a training tool. This makes the Stage’s Power Meter crank a lot more economically friendly and it makes installing and maintaining a lot simpler. The crank provides power measurement ±2% accuracy of the left leg’s measured power and it offers great advantages over spider-based torque measurements. About the Stages Power Meter Crank The crank arm doesn’t alter or affect the drive side of your bike; it simply adds the option of power to your training. The miniature unit weighs just 20g and it houses an array of high technologies adapted from the rapid advancement of modern electronics. The unit is just an extra component to the drivetrain and it’s seamlessly integrated so it won’t interfere with your pedals.
